Hi! Finally the world's seven industrialised nations have agreed to cancel the debts Haiti owes them. this was announced at the G7 summit in Canada. Gordon Brown has expressed his pleasure at the agreement saying that we have already cancelled our debt with Haiti. 'A people buried in rubble should not also be buried in debt.' he said. I can only agree with that. Oxfam have campaigned for the whole of Haiti's debt of £557m to be cancelled but said that they didn't know how much of that was owed to the G7 countries. I hope it's most of it. Haiti needs some good news don't you agree?

That's fantastic news - and would be great for the Haitians. Bless them.
